There is some bad news for Chicago Fire fans. There isn’t a new episode of the series on tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 14. There isn’t a new episode of any of the One Chicago shows tonight.

That shouldn’t be all that surprising. It is Valentine’s Day. There will be a lot of couples opting for date night tonight. NBC may not want to consider the potentially lower live ratings for the night. So, the three shows are taking a night off.

This could also be linked to scheduling needs due to the shows starting up in the middle of January. Other networks are holding off until February and March, likely running through to May without a break. NBC will need to take breaks as the shows are likely only to have 13 episodes this season.

When will Chicago Fire return with new episodes?

The good news is this break isn’t a long one. NBC has confirmed that Chicago Fire, along with Med and PD, will return with new episodes on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

This confirmation came in the promo for the new episode. Yes, NBC has let us know what to expect when the show returns. We’ll see Brett’s career and freedom potentially on the line when the defibrillator malfunctions during a call.

This could cost a man his life, and if it turns out to be human error, then it means Brett is on the line for it.

In the synopsis, we learn that we’ll get to know more about Gibson. He has been a secretive new member of the team, but it looks like he just wants to put his past behind him and start a new life. There are a lot of people like this, and not necessarily for bad reasons. They just want to move on.
