Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson teases show’s huge new summer mystery

“It’s massively unexpected.”

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has teased the Channel 4 soap’s huge new summer mystery.

It was recently confirmed that upcoming scenes will introduce a mysterious gangster known only as ‘Blue’, who sets out to make Warren Fox’s life a misery.

Not only is Blue believed to be responsible for the recent attempt to gun Warren down, but they will help Richardson’s character Ste Hay escape a jail sentence for his involvement in the death of Warren’s daughter Ella Richardson.

Teasing what fans can expect from the storyline during a new interview with Inside Soap, Richardson said we’re going to hear the name ‘Blue’ “a lot in the coming weeks”.

“They’re going to be in quite a lot of people’s stories,” he added. “Everyone’s panicked – Blue is so much bigger than anyone else in the village…”

As for Ste’s reaction when he gets out of jail time due to a legal technicality, the actor shared: “It’s massively unexpected. It’s a shock for him that he gets off, the words the judge uses are that it’s an ‘unsafe case’, so Ste comes out completely bemused and confused at what’s going on.

“Cindy is outside the court screaming ‘you’re a killer!’ at him. But there is a reason behind it.”

Richardson went on to reveal that Ste runs straight to Warren because “he doesn’t understand what’s going on,” before learning who was behind his release.

“As he’s leaving the club he’s met by this big, scary henchman who gives him a burner phone, which goes off with a text message saying: ‘I own you now – Blue’.

“Ste puts two and two together and realises that this Blue, whoever they are, is the reason why he’s got off. Then the story starts – who is Blue? What do they want?”

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
