‘Am I tripping?’ Fans baffled by another Hollyoaks blunder as show admits mistake

Sienna Blake looking sad in Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks fans were left baffled by another blunder on the E4 soap this week, after they edited an incorrect scene into the show.

In the final moments of Tuesday’s episode, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) was stunned as her grandmother Martha (Sherrie Hewson) revealed that her newfound ‘uncle’ Jeremy (Jeremy Sheffield) is actually her biological father, not his twin brother Patrick, who had raised her.

With the action picking up on Wednesday’s episode, the bombshell revelation was included in a ‘Previously on Hollyoaks’ recap – but fans quickly noticed something was off.

Many on social media pointed out it was a different version of the same scene, seeing Sienna and Martha having a much calmer discussion than viewers had seen the previous day.

‘Am I tripping?’ one fan asked on X. ‘I didn’t see this in any of the episodes this week???’

Another posted: ‘I was so confused I thought I’d missed something.’

‘I said exactly the same,’ another agreed. ‘Someone messed up there.’

Another fan theorised: ‘They recorded two versions of the ending scene in the last episode and for whatever reason used the alternate version in the previously lol.’

A Hollyoaks representative confirmed to Metro.co.uk that was exactly what happened, with the alternative version of the scene inserted into the recap in error.

Actresses Anna Passey and Sherrie Hewson actually filmed the big revelation a few times from different angles.

It was the latest in a series of blunders for the Channel 4 soap, as earlier this week there was anger surrounding a premature birth.

As Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) went into labour, the character was shocked and mentioned that she wasn’t due for another three months.

However, Zoe only conceived her baby back in May, after sleeping with Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer), meaning she wasn’t actually due to give birth until around February next year.

Hollyoaks is undergoing huge changes at the moment, as it prepares to move from five episodes a week to three next month to cut down its costs.

As a result, the show will permanently jump forward a year in time, in a bid to explain a mass exodus of cast members.

Hollyoaks currently streams on Channel 4 and weeknights at 7pm on E4.
