BTG Day Ahead Recap: Anita Confesses the Unthinkable to Vernon — And Dani’s Hospital Reaction Leaves Hayley Shattered
Wednesday, June 4, 2024: Chelsea meets a mysterious woman, Andre shows Leslie the surveillance footage, and Jacob gets a search warrant.

At home, Vernon finds Anita pensively staring into space. As he sits with her, she tells him there’s something he needs to know.
She explains there was a fourth Articulettes. Her name was Barbara. She gave them their name and started the group.
Barbara brought them together and they were supposed to be sisters forever. Then they met Dante…
He though Barbara was too rough and couldn’t be polished up. Anita thought Dante was there only way to stardom so she let him push her out.
She’s spent years trying to distance herself from the person who chose fame over family. “I killed her, just as surely as if I had pulled tat trigger myself,” she says.
Her stone cold ambition drove Barbara to suicide. Vernon explains she’s not responsible. She was just ambitious and that’s normal.
They argue the point and she accuses him of making excuses for her. She doens’t deserve to feel better about herself.
He doesn’t see how making herself hurt will bring Barbara back. Indulging in self-blame is useless.
Vernon thinks she needs to forgive herself and stop this. She gave Barbara’s family money anonymously to make her feel better but it didn’t.
She declares the reunion is off and storms out.
At Orphie Gene’s, Sharon and Tracy discuss how they can get their careers back. Sharon is perfectly happy to do it on Anita’s back.
The likelihood of her career reviving at this point is unlikely by any other means. Sharon suggests they use this to relaunch themselves and then dump Anita.
They need to demand to split the songs three ways. Tracy thinks she’s being selfish but Sharon is sure Anita would understand selfish is the only way to win.
Tracy would rather leave her two bandmates to fight this out among themselves. Sharon assures her that she’s on her side, not Anita’s.
The only person Tracy is really feeling for is Barbara. Sharon agrees to be honest with Anita about using the reunion to relaunch her career.
After she leaves for the bathroom, Vernon calls Tracy and informs her that his wife has backed out of the reunion concert.
He says that if she sees the value in still doing it, she needs to handle this.
Back at her home, Anita tells Vernon how hard it was to tell him about Barbara. He understands that secrets like that can be poison.
He promises to be by her side and not let her go through this alone.
At Dani’s, the Tide sits in the corner as she and Andre finish having sex. She says it was different. Their fight made the sex better.
She tells him he’s her “perfect Mr. Right Now.” He was thinking he could be more than that and they could get real.
Dani asks if he wants to be the “CEO of orgasms.” He points out that beyond sex, they have something real and emotional.
As they joke, Naomi calls her mom to fill her in about Bill.
Bill is brought into the hospital by Hayley and Naomi. They fill Doug in on his symptoms.
Doug wants to call neurology and Bill keeps insisting he’s fine.
Stepping aside to Shanice, Naomi asks her if Bill could be having a stroke.
Once they get him to a room, Doug explains Bill may have had a TIA and that could be a warning for a stroke.
They want to keep him in for observation. Bill doesn’t like this but everyone tells him to stay put.
Doug reluctantly agrees to let Bill go home if they monitor him and immediately contact the hospital if anything happens.
Dani bursts in, declaring she needs to know if Bill is alright. She’s told about his mini-stroke.
Dani is sure that he’s not faking given how he can’t stand hospitals. They remind him that he’s just a man and needs to drop his pride.
She’s sure he can do that. When she jokes that she didn’t wish this on him because if she wanted him dead, he would be, he chuckles.
Hayley is clearly not enjoying the banter and yanks out his IV. As Dani exits, Bill thanks her for coming. His wife huffs.
Once he’s dressed, Bill tells Hayley that he and Dani are done, but their connection can’t be totally severed.
She admits she was “jelly” not to talk him down when he wanted to “go Hulk.”
In the corridor, Dani and Naomi share a moment, admitting how worried they were that they were going to lose Bill.

They tell each other how much they love each other.
Leslie sneaks in, wearing a hat and sunglasses as a disguise, Shanice recognizes her and orders her out.
Leslie tries to convince her she’s someone else by using a French accent. When that fails, Leslie takes off the glasses and explains she’s trying to clear her name.
They bicker about the Duprees and how they can get away with everything. Leslie wants to see the security footage and tells her she’s desperate.
Shanice tells her the police have the footage, not her. Andre found it.
At Uptown, Chelsea smiles to herself as a woman at the bar checks her out.
Chelsea follows her to a table and tells her they are too gorgeous to be drinking alone.The lady’s name is Madison. They talk about their “mental real estate” and spare time.
Chelsea speculates on whether she’s a spy. Madison says that if she was, she would lie about it.They talk about the meaning of life and Chelsea says it’s being game for anything interesting. She wants to be fed.She talks about becoming part of a parade by accident and how something beautiful can always be waiting around the corner.
Momentarily distracted by a text from ehr sister, when she looks up again, Madison is gone.Leslie corners Andre at Orphie Gene’s. He tries to snub her but she’s interested in seeing one of his videos.
He says he’s not a streaming service. She asks for the security camera footage so she can refute it.He reminds her she’s not in court yet and doesn’t deserve discovery. But he agrees to show her the footage.
As he does, she laughs and says that clearly isn’t her. She’s way hotter. He says stylists can layer all they want but he can see her.She’s sure he and ted want to put her away but they have nothing on her. He snaps a picture of her and says that it could be key to taking off her disguise.
Kat stomps into the police station to rant at Jacob about Leslie. He reminds ehr she’s overstepping and he doesn’t report to her.
He assures her that he’s doing his job and teh walls are closing in on Leslie.She keeps kicking herself for messing with the evidence. He says they still have no proof that the jacket belonged to Leslie.
When he gets a call, he says that he just got what he wanted: a warrant to search Leslie’s apartment.Kat tells him he owes her an apology and he explains they are hoping they can find a link to the crime.
She wants to go along but Jacob explains that’s not allowed. She says cutting her out is a big mistake and vows to make sure Leslie gets what she deserves.
