Episode two will feature Chicago PD and Chicago Med.
Chicago Fire spoilers follow.
With Chicago Fire currently airing its ninth season, showrunner Derek Haas is already looking ahead to what’s coming up next season – and he’s teased two major events that he’s planning.
In a chat with TVLine, Haas revealed that the team are hoping to do a big crossover episode with Chicago PD and Chicago Med, providing the COVID-19 situation has settled down a bit more by then.
“Hopefully, the second episode, like we’ve done in the past, will be a major crossover,” he revealed.

“We’ve already started talking about ideas for it and to do one in the vein of ‘Infection’, where it was three big episodes with all three shows represented in all three hours.
“That would be ideal. Hopefully, the pandemic will be closer to being under control by then, and we’ll have more people back and we can cross people over a bit more easily.”
That’s not the only thing viewers have to look forward to, as Haas revealed that episode five is the series’ 200th episode – and he has big plans to celebrate that milestone.

He continued: “So we’re going to start and really build towards that episode and make that one special, too.”
Haas previously teased the possibility of Monica Raymund returning as Gabby Dawson after her departure in 2019, telling TVLine: “I have nothing but respect, admiration, and love for Monica Raymund, so I’ve kind of kept that door open at all times. Anytime she wants to swoop in and steal our hearts again, we’d love to have her.”
Chicago Fire airs on NBC in the US and on Sky Witness in the UK.
