Chicago Fire resolves shocking cliffhanger as it returns for season 11 winter premiere
But there’s a new threat awaiting.
Chicago Fire has picked up right where the first half of the season left off in the season 11 winter premiere.
Fans were left fearing for their favourites’ lives in an explosive cliffhanger that was resolved in the first part of the new episode, ‘Something For The Pain’.
Aired on January 4 in the US, the mid-season premiere saw Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) and Seth Pryma (Troy Winbush) all surviving the explosion.
While Carver was relatively fine, Kidd needed surgery — and the painkillers the episode title refers to — and seemed to have been impacted emotionally by the accident.
Still in the hospital by the end of the premiere, Detective Pryma is set to receive a medal for his heroic act and is likely to take an early pension from the CPD.
Firehouse 51 can now put the explosion behind them, though there’s another threat on the horizon in the form of baddie Emma Jacobs (Caitlin Carver)
The disgraced paramedic tried to blackmail Chief Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas) last season to get Violet’s (Hanako Greensmith) job, but her true colours were exposed when she ran out of a rescue mission.
As Emma landed a job at the CFD’s Internal Affairs, Violet took her complaint to Emma’s boss. However, Emma found out, letting Violet know she is back in her black book, and that others in the 51 could be in danger, too.
