Chicago Fire Set Video Starring New Season 13 Team Confirms Filming Has Started

Production has officially started for Chicago Fire season 13, as confirmed by a new set video featuring the new Ambo 61. Coming from a change-ridden year, Firehouse 51 will enter new territory when it returns with new episodes this fall on NBC. On the heels of Chief Wallace Boden’s departure in the season 12 finale, Kelly Severide and his team are looking for a new leader — the first time they need to do so since One Chicago premiered. Despite their on-screen predicament, the cast seems ecstatic to be back on the set for Chicago Fire season 13.

Taking it to his official Instagram, Darren Ritter actor Daniel Kyri shares a new look at his co-stars as they start production for Chicago Fire season 13. Check out a screengrab of the video below:

In the post, Kyri shows Hanako Greensmith and Jocelyn Hudon reading on the set of season 13. The pair will spearhead the revamped Ambo 61, which was rehauled on the heels of Kara Killmer’s exit as Sylvie Brett as Firehouse 51’s paramedic-in-charge.

How The New Ambo 61 Helps Firehouse 51 In Chicago Fire Season 13
Violet & Novak Are A Good Pairing

In the middle of all these uncertainties, Chicago Fire sorting out its new Ambo 61 team before the new year will help bring some stability to Firehouse 51.

Aside from Chief Boden’s exit, the season 12 finale also set up a few other major plots that will fully play out in the upcoming year. Some of those narratives include the revelation of Jack Damon’s true identity as Benny Severide’s son and Sam Carver’s unknown status on Truck 81. Before leaving Firehouse 51, Boden chose Christopher Hermann to be his successor, but that won’t pan out. David Engelberg has already confirmed that his character won’t be the new battalion chief, which means that NBC and Wolf Entertainment will introduce a new character for the part.

In the middle of all these uncertainties, Chicago Fire sorting out its new Ambo 61 team before the new year will help bring some stability to Firehouse 51. It’s no secret that there have been several personnel issues with the firehouse’s paramedic team in the past. As Violet gets promoted to be the new PIC, she needs a trustworthy and capable partner. Despite her initial skepticism about Novak, she was eventually convinced that the former floater was a perfect fit for Firehouse 51. For what it’s worth, it does seem like they’re the perfect pair for the job.

Only time will tell if there’s any more drama in store for Ambo 61. However, considering everything else happening in Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire season 13, the writers should keep Violet and Novak’s relationship relatively drama free. This way, they can focus on other issues in the shows without making it feel overwhelmingly dark for viewers/
