Chicago Fire will be losing another cast member in season 12
Firehouse 51 is already going to be down a paramedic, and now it’s down a firefighter. Alberto Rosende is leaving in Chicago Fire season 12.
There are more changes coming to the One Chicago franchise. As production starts up on the three Dick Wolf shows, news about cast changes is finally happening. We know Kara Kilmer is leaving the show at some point during the season, but it turns out that she is not the only one.
Alberto Rosende, who plays Blake Gallo on the series, will also leave Fire during the upcoming season. We will get to see him before the exit, though, unlike Alexa Davalos on fellow Dick Wolf series FBI: Most Wanted.
When will Alberto Rosende leave Chicago Fire season 12?
Gallo will be in the Chicago Fire season 12 premiere, according to Deadline. There is no word on how Gallo will be written out of the show just yet.
Season 11 didn’t end with a major cliffhanger for anyone except Mouch (Christian Stolte). After being shot during the big call in the episode, it looked like Mouch made it through surgery, but we were left with him bleeding out from his wound just as the closing credits rolled. All of the other 51 members were safe.
So, it is possible that Gallo will exit with a chance to return in the future. After all, Rosende was brought onto the show as a recurring guest star before being upped to series regular.
Fans may be worried that Gallo will be killed off in a shocking turn of events, especially if Mouch survives. It has been a while since there was such a permanent loss to the Firehouse 51 members, with Otis being the last big one. Gallo came in after Otis’s departure, and his developed a similarly lovable persona among his team members.
We hope that the reason for his exit will ultimately be happier. The character has struggled to find a romantic partner in recent seasons, as Rosende noted during an interview with Tell Tale TV. We wouldn’t mind seeing Gallo find the right person and leave the 51 as someone who has a bright future ahead of them.
“He’s a little bit of a wild card, you know? He learns I think pretty quickly and he grows pretty quickly, but at the same time, he’s still a young, kind of hotshot firefighter,” Rosende noted in 2022. “Romantically, he’s a little all over the place and can really use the guidance of his best friends… He gets into dangerous situations and hopefully will get out.”
The exit is amicable between Rosende and the show. It does sound like either a creative or cost-cutting decision, but Rosende is leaving on good terms.
