Intelligence is losing another one of its own.
Tracy Spiridakos, who plays detective Hailey Upton on Chicago P.D., will depart the NBC drama after Season 11, our sister site Variety reports. It’s currently unknown when exactly in the upcoming season she is due to exit.
Spiridakos first appeared in Season 4 in a recurring capacity before joining the squad full-time in Season 5. Season 10, which wrapped up in May, found Upton dealing with the fallout from the abrupt departure of her husband Jay Halstead (played by Jesse Lee Soffer) in the season’s third episode. After heading to Bolivia to track the worst cartel targets, Halstead had stopped returning her calls and failed to inform her that he extended his overseas stay.
In real life, Soffer left the show after playing Halstead since the show’s debut in 2014. Of his departure, the actor said that it was “one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make in my life. Let’s be honest: I love the fans of our show so much, and I love my fans. I know that they’re still grieving this, and to some degree, I am, too.”
