Chicago PD Shocker: Burgess Makes a Dramatic Comeback in Season 12, Episode 3 – First Look Photos Revealed!
After what has felt like the longest wait ever, Burgess is finally making her way back to Chicago in this week’s new Chicago PD!
As fans will recall, Burgess missed the first two episodes of the season with her character said to be away at a conference in New Orleans which kept her sidelined as the season kicked off. Fans were beginning to worry about when they’d see Burgess again, but the wait is finally over as Burgess is back this week and will rejoin the Intelligence Unit as they work an armed robbery case that is going to challenge Atwater in an exciting new way.
While we don’t quite know what the episode will hold for Burgess as she’s not mentioned in the official synopsis for the episode and only appears briefly in the promo for the episode, the first photos from the episode hint that if nothing else fans can expect to see her back to full action once again following her trip to New Orleans.
Via the new episodes from episode 3, “Off Switch,” we see Burgess back in the bullpen working this week’s case alongside the rest of the Intelligence Unit. In several of the photos, we get a sense that Burgess has gotten a break in the case as she directs to a photo on their case board and looks intensely at her computer.
Don’t worry, Burgess isn’t going to be relegated to simply working the case from the precinct! In one photo, we get to see Burgess back in the field as the Intelligence Unit prepares to breach the door where we can only assume they’ve tracked down a suspect.
Given there is a second photo featuring Atwater talking to an individual on a gurney, we have a feeling the scene in question in which the Intelligence Unit breaches the door ends in an intense exchange of some sort.
We’ll get to find out the context behind the photos on Oct. 9 when a new episode of Chicago PD welcomes Burgess back into the fold, a return we know fans are excited for!
Don’t miss new episodes of Chicago PD every Wednesday at 10/9c on NBC and streaming on Peacock!
