Chicago release dates 2024: When are Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. releasing new episodes on NBC?

The One Chicago franchise, also broadcast on NBC, deals with different public services in Chicago, Illinois. It was created by Dick Wolf, who’s the main man behind the Law & Order series too. Much like Law & Order, Chicago has maintained strong ratings over the years across most of its shows, with the one-season-long Chicago Justice being the only one that backfired due to strong similarities with Wolf’s other hit TV franchise.

When are new Chicago Med season 9 episodes airing?
All three Chicago series debuted new seasons on January 17, 2024, on NBC. For now, Chicago is taking over the Wednesday slot, leaving Thursdays for the Law & Order series. Chicago Med leads the charge at 8pm ET with season 9. It’s expected to be a shorter 13-episode season.

When are new Chicago Fire season 12 episodes airing?
Chicago Fire season 12 airs right after Med, at 9pm ET on Wednesdays. It also debuted on January 17 and is expected to have only 13 episodes.

When are new Chicago P.D. season 11 episodes airing?
Chicago P.D. season 11 closes the One Chicago slot on Wednesdays at 10pm ET. Same as the others, it’s expected to only contain 13 episodes, so unless changes are made to the schedule, all three shows should wrap up their new seasons on the same day too.

Where can I watch the Chicago series?
The One Chicago series are broadcast on the NBC network, but streaming services such as NBCUniversal’s Peacock or Amazon’s Prime Video also have past seasons available.

Chicago Fire follows the professional and personal lives of, you guessed it, the firefighters, rescue personnel, and paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department at the fictional Firehouse 51. It was the first of the One Chicago series to be created and broadcast, starting its run in late 2012.

Chicago P.D. was the second of the One Chicago shows to be made, and started with a backdoor pilot in May 2013 as part of Chicago Fire season 1. It began airing its seasons in January 2014, and focuses on the 21st District’s work, following patrol officers and the department’s elite Intelligence Unit.

Chicago Med had its backdoor pilot in April 2015 in Chicago Fire, and started airing its first season in November that same year. It follows the emergency department (ED) doctors and nurses of the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
