‘Duck Dynasty’ Phil Robertson Dead At 79

Just a week ahead of the Duck Dynasty reboot premiering, patriarch Phil Robertson has passed away. He was only 79 at the time of his death, and his family is in deep mourning. They knew he was declining, but it is still tragic all the same. Keep reading for more details.

Phil Robertson Has Died At 79

It has not been easy for the Duck Dynasty family. Despite their excitement over the show’s revival and Sadie Robertson Huff’s pregnancy, there was still heartbreak. Phil Robertson was battling Alzheimer’s, and it affected the whole family. They were devastated that he was suffering in any capacity and would not be back for the revival, premiering on June 1st, 2025. The initial series ran for eleven seasons with Phil as a main cast member for the first four. He then went on to a recurring status for the rest of the run, and then the show ended in 2017.

Now, with the revival a week away from premiering, the family has shared some devastating news. Jase Robertson took to social media to share that his father had passed away. He was only seventy-nine at the time of his death, which occurred on Sunday, May 25th, 2025. Amid a photo of his father smiling, Jase wrote a short but sweet message regarding Phil’s death:

• My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!

 

Immediately, Duck Dynasty fans rushed to send their love to the Robertson family. They wanted it to be known how beloved he was, and what an incredible impact he left on the world. This is likely what the family wants to read during this incredibly painful time as they are dealing with the grief. However, Phil left a beautiful legacy that won’t soon be forgotten, along with a message of faith.

Many Duck Dynasty fans chimed in with their love and memories regarding Phil Robertson. It seemed that no one had a bad word to say about him. More so, they wanted to make it clear what an amazing man he was and how grateful they were that he existed in the world. That is quite a testament to the kind of soul he was and the impact that he left behind:
