Who is Blue is the mystery gripping every Hollyoaks fan right now – and the theories are coming thick and fast, some sounding very legit and others feeling brilliantly bonkers and off-the-wall.

No-one can be ruled out, right? Well, show boss Hannah Cheers is on hand to give you a helping hand with a very big clue which can finally narrow things down a bit.

In an exclusive interview with Metro.co.uk, Hannah reflected on the Blue mystery, one which has been in the works for a long time.

‘We’ve got a rollicking crescendo to the Blue mystery which impacts the whole village!’ she declared.

‘Blue, named after their piercing blue eyes, presents a real threat.’

Hold on, let’s rewind that a bit! So now we can confirm that the character in question is blue-eyed, so it’s time to start gazing into everyone’s peepers as they come on screen.

We’re not about to ruin the fun of this little game – but I wonder if this changes any of your theories at all. Are things starting to make sense? Or has this muddied the waters even more?

Wherever you find yourself, there’s no denying that it crosses off a few key names that have been touted.

But Hannah had more to say, teasing to me that it will be central to the exit of Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas).

‘We have seen Blue threatening Warren’s family and they up the ante by making a shocking move which sees Norma, played by the iconic Glynis Barber, shot in cold blood,’ she continued.

‘Blue means business and there are no more warning shots now. The tentacles of this story start to spread through the village, and Donny and Rex have burning secrets that will emerge.

‘Blue harming Warren’s family lights the touchpaper to the grand finale of his exit. We love Jamie Lomas and his quest for revenge doesn’t disappoint. Expect more twists and turns.’

And that goes beyond the big reveal too – which isn’t far off – and forms part of the catalyst to the much speculated stunt sequence playing into the time-jump.

Hannah enthused: ‘What I love about our September stunt week is that it’s packed full of different story threads. There are some huge heartbreaking revelations and some superb white-knuckle stunt action. You really don’t know which way to look…

‘It’s a domino effect of story; a series of events coming together but it also works as a stand-alone week to dive into.

‘The following week, we see the much-anticipated time jump – which is another big treat after you have just caught your breath. It celebrates everything we believe Hollyoaks encapsulates – joy, warmth, jaw-dropping reveals and family, love and friendship.’
