Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (July 30) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Wednesday July 31 at 7pm.
Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) was left completely and utterly reeling as Dave Williams (Dominic Power) confessed to being responsible for the death of Lizzie Chen-Williams’ (Lily Best) baby.
Lizzie, as viewers know, opened up to Cindy about the fact that she’d given birth in secret a decade ago, with Cindy encouraging her to get in touch with a health visitor to help locate her child.
Dave apparently found out about the existence of his grandchild at his wedding to Cindy, with Lizzie confiding in him about what she went through – and how she was keen to find her baby.
But it seems that he wasn’t being completely honest, as Monday’s offering of the Channel 4 soap appears to indicate that he already knew, telling Cindy that the child in question is dead – because of him.
Lizzie, as fans will recall, tragically died on the evening of Dave and Cindy’s wedding.
Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith) took drugs and passed a number of pills around, with Hunter (Theo Graham) and Prince (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) also taking some.
Lizzie was apprehensive but ultimately she decided to take one too, with Dilly suggesting it would ‘take the edge off’ her stressful day. She subsequently collapsed to the floor and lost consciousness, with Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) declaring her dead.
In the latest episode, Cindy found out that Dave had taken out a loan and, after a number of showdowns, he confessed to her what the money was far, revealing that he was paying off the search for Lizzie’s child.
‘Lizzie’s baby is dead’, he explained, stunning Cindy in her tracks. ‘She’s dead. And I killed her’.
Unexpected, to say the least. The question is: just what exactly does Dave mean when he says that he killed her?
