Hollyoaks confirms major Frankie twist as JJ finally faces the music

Frankie reels as JJ is arrested in Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (September 4) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Thursday September 5 at 7pm.

Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) was left reeling as JJ (Ryan Mulvey) was arrested by police, with a social worker present for the showdown, indicating that someone notified authorities of her abuse ordeal.

The teen, as viewers know, was being sexually abused by twin brother JJ, who gaslit her into keeping quiet, claiming that no-one would believe her if she opened up, branding her ‘unloveable’.

After a particularly frightening incident last month, Frankie found the strength to tell Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) the truth and – to her shock – he never doubted her for a second.

Frankie was overwhelmed by her dad’s support, though swore him to secrecy. Wanting to protect an support his daughter, Darren respected her wishes, so much so that he kept Nancy (Jessica Fox) in the dark.

That all changed on Wednesday, however, when JJ told Nancy that Frankie had made an allegation against him, claiming there was no truth to it.

But Nancy saw through his lies and returned home to Basswood Road to talk to Darren.

Knowing Nancy needed to know, Darren broke down in tears, confirming that JJ has been sexually abusing Frankie.

In emotional scenes, helmed by powerhouse performances from series titans Jessica Fox and Ashley Taylor Dawson, Nancy supported Darren, giving him a hug as they talked through next steps.

Darren was adamant that he couldn’t betray Frankie’s trust, leaving Nancy with little choice but to notify social services herself. At the school, a social worker and a police officer approached Frankie.

JJ witnessed the scene and, believing Frankie to have reported him, he lashed out, becoming abusive, which prompted the police officer to intervene, arresting the teen on the spot.

Frankie broke down in tears, terrified of everyone knowing about her ordeal, as best mate Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) watched on, confused by what was unfolding.

Will JJ finally face the music?

And will Frankie be able to open up to the police about what she’s been going through?

Hollyoaks streams weeknights at 7:30pm on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
