Hollyoaks confirms unexpected reason why Lucas is in young offenders
Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (September 18) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Fans of Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) were taken aback when Hollyoaks took a one year time jump into the future, which confirmed that the fan-favourite character is doing time in young offenders.
The reason for Lucas’ incarceration was kept under wraps, with little known other than the fact that Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) was paying him a visit on the day in question.
Three episodes into the post-time-jump era, however, and Hollyoaks has provided some context on the situation.
Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) informed Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson)- who has just woke from a coma after a year – that his son is in youth offenders due an attack he carried out on JJ Osborne (Ryan Mulvey).
JJ, as viewers know, was sexually abusing twin sister Frankie (Isabelle Smith), who is one of Lucas’ best friends.
Relaying her knowledge of the situation, Misbah said: ‘All I know is that Lucas found out what JJ Osborne was doing to poor Frankie – and he attacked him’.
Misbah was quick to add that Lucas hasn’t been on his own, as Dillon has been right ‘by his side’, in addition to Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan), Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) – and Misbah herself, who has offered support to the teen.
Leah, as viewers know, welcomed a baby earlier this week, which was one of the time jump twists.
The father was thought to be Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) but fans are worried that this isn’t the case, convinced that Hollyoaks is going to reveal Dillon as the dad instead.
This would mean that Dillon cheated on his beloved Lucas with his own sister Leah, which would be incredibly out-of-character – especially after all that he and Lucas went through to be together.
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 7am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
