Hollyoaks ‘confirms’ who will expose abuser Abe Fielding – and it’s not Marie

Abe becomes threatening to Cleo at the hospital in Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks fans have long thought that Marie Fielding (Rita Simons) would play a role in exposing Abe’s (Tyler Conti) abuse of Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) but new spoilers indicate that it might be someone else.

Marie has, thus far, walked in on Abe and Cleo in the wake of an altercation which saw the abuser attack his girlfriend with a bunch of flowers. Ever the liar, Abe claimed the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

Upcoming scenes will see Marie’s interest piqued once again when, following an altercation with younger son Arlo (Dan Hough), she confides in Cleo, who assumes that the matriarch is talking about Abe when referring to her attacker.

The fact that Cleo automatically assumed Abe is to blame leaves her with food for thought, which further heightens the possibility that she might be the one to expose her violent son.

Next week, however, sees another character enter the frame, with Hannah Ashworth (Emma Rigby) working out very quickly what kind of a man Abe truly is.

Cleo is on cloud nine after she lands a new promotion, but Abe isn’t best pleased when she decides to go out with her friends instead of staying at home with him – and things become aggressive.

Abe subsequently sets out a new workout regime for Cleo, including an exercise class in the park with various other residents in attendance.

In a bid to make Cleo feel self-conscious, he praises Teresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) and Hannah, while refraining from giving his girlfriend any praise whatsoever.

Hannah picks up on such a thing and wastes little time in showing her support for Cleo, with the two finding a connection as they discuss their experiences of having an eating disorder.

With Hannah having worked out straight away what kind of person Abe truly is, could it be her that exposes the abuser?

Will she continue to protect Cleo and thus make it her mission to reveal what Abe is truly up to?

And just how will Abe react given that Cleo has found a new supportive friend?
