Hollyoaks Fans Outraged as Beloved Character Is Killed Off in Shocking Wedding Day Twist!
Hollyoaks fans were left stunned on Monday as a major character was killed off on their wedding day after their sordid affair was exposed in a shocking soap twist
Hollyoaks viewers have hailed the latest episode of the Channel 4 soap as the “best episode ever” following a shocking death at Sienna Blake and Ethan Williams’ wedding.
The popular drama has kicked off a fresh whodunit plot after Ethan (played by Matthew James Bailey) was killed, having been pushed off a balcony by an unidentified attacker.
A gloomy atmosphere had already descended on the wedding before the fatal incident, with Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) publicly disclosing that Ethan had been unfaithful to Sienna (Anna Passey) with Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) the previous Christmas.
Although Sienna was aware of Ethan’s betrayal and had forgiven him, her family were oblivious and subsequently refused to back her marriage plans.
Monday’s episode (7th October), which is now available for streaming, saw Sienna attempting to persuade her family that she had moved on from Ethan’s infidelity and was desperate for them to be present at her wedding, reports the Mirror.
In the meantime, Ethan had a tough night and woke up in the allotments. Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) was left to assist him in pulling himself together before the wedding ceremony.
Ethan covertly met with Vicky to request her to allow him to move forward, although he also described her as “gorgeous” and “a 10 out of 10”. Ethan and Sienna eventually got married, but the problems began shortly afterwards when a spiteful Vicky showed up outside the church to throw a drink over Sienna.
“A drink to celebrate. Enjoy it while it lasts until he’s knocking on my door again,” Vicky spat venomously. Sienna almost flew into a rage at Vicky but was held back by her sisters, as Liberty Savage tried to keep the peace, urging Sienna not to “stoop” to Vicky’s level.
Ethan’s dismissal of their steamy fling as “irrelevant” was blown out of the water when Vicky dropped the bombshell that she fell pregnant and Ethan paid for an abortion. After the fiery face-off between Sienna and Vicky cooled down, Ethan sought Sienna out to grovel some more, fessing up that hiding Vicky’s pregnancy from Sienna was always his game plan.
With the wedding reception bubbling downstairs, guests’ ears pricked up to the sound of Ethan and Sienna in a heated balcony bust-up.
The revellers later heared a bone-chilling thud. They poured outside to find Ethan’s body sprawled over a car. So now, the burning question: Who sent Ethan tumbling to his doom?
Social media went into meltdown mode with fans venting on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. One ecstatic fan wrote: “WHAT AN EPISODE! ! ! BEST EPISODE SO FAR AFTER THE TIME JUMP… I NEED TOMORROWS EPISODE NOW. AHHH THAT EP WAS CLASSIC HOLLYOAKS. #Hollyoaks”.
Others couldn’t contain their excitement with comments like, “I can’t with all the twists and turns in today’s episode! ! One of my favourite episodes all year. #Hollyoaks.”
And one more viewer weighed in with their hot take: “Wow wow wow what a good episode of @Hollyoaks so did Sienna push him or did he jump? I’m going with a push- also the Sienna and Vicky fight literally iconic #Hollyoaks.”
Yet, the demise of Ethan left some fans utterly heartbroken. A distraught viewer wrote: “I am still in shock. Why would they do this? Are they trying to get axed? .”
Meanwhile, another fumed: “I am so ANGRY. I hate everything. I’m out. Big mistake #Hollyoaks. Awful decision. You just lost an army of viewers. Not giving you a single second more of my time.”
