Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has revealed he has undergone a hair transplant.

The actor, who plays Darren Osborne on the Channel 4 soap, revealed the results in a series of photos.

He recently underwent the procedure at the British Hair Clinic in Cheshire.

Ashley said: ‘I’d noticed my hairline receding for years but kept delaying it. Mainly because my friends who’d been abroad or to other clinics in the UK had bad experiences of pain, poor results and unnatural looking hairlines.’

Ashley also explained that his soap bosses have accommodated his surgery, explaining that is why you might have noticed him wearing a hat on screen in recent weeks.

‘So this is why Darren has been wearing a hat,’ wrote one fan on Reddit.

‘Good for him,’ another said.

The star has recently been at the centre of a huge storyline, after his daughter Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) bravely opened up to him about the abuse she has suffered for years at the hands of her twin brother JJ (Ryan Mulvey).

Since the soap jumped a year into the future last month, Frankie is now trying to get justice, but JJ has used the death of their mum Suzanne Ashworth (Suzanne Hall) to try and get her to tell the court that she’s lying.

A shock development has since seen doctors tell JJ that he has leukaemia, leaving the case against him with an uncertain future.

Ashley recently told Digital Spy of the plot: ‘It’s been one of the most incredible stories I’ve ever been part of.

‘It’s been a very interesting story to navigate and as you will see, it just gets harder.’

Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 7am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
