Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey has left fans fearing for her future on the show after a concerning post.

The Channel 4 soap, which currently airs five times a week, will drop to three offerings from September in response to research which indicates that this is the optimum episode pattern for modern audiences.

To facilitate the new chapter, 135 job redundancies were confirmed, which is thought to be around a third of Hollyoaks’ staff.

According to a new update, this now includes 20 cast members, who have reportedly been let go.

Chelsee, best known for playing Goldie McQueen on the soap, updated her fans on her Instagram Story with a cryptic post.

Actress Chelsee was written out of Hollyoaks in January to facilitate her maternity leave but, with Hunter’s death taking place in Goldie’s absence, it was inevitable that she would stage a comeback for such a big story.

The 35-year-old has played Goldie in the Channel 4 soap since 2016 but prior to that made her name in soapland with roles in Waterloo Road and Casualty.

It’s not yet known whether Chelsee will be affected by the recent job cuts announced by Hollyoaks’ production company Lime Pictures.

Up to 130 jobs are at risk at the show’s filming base in Childwall, Liverpool, after a decision was made to change their broadcast model and cut down from five to three episodes per week.

A number of cast have already announced they will be leaving ahead of a UK soap first time jump, that will see the drama skyrocket one year into the future on a permanent basis from September.
