Hollyoaks star announces engagement in series of loved-up snaps

Callum Kerr stood next to the Hollyoaks sign

Former Hollyoaks star Callum Kerr has announced his engagement to partner Lauren Stacy.

The Scots actor, 30, starred as PC George Kiss in the Channel 4 soap between 2020 and 2021.

George was investigating the county lines drug dealing that took place in the village when he was installed at Hollyoaks High in an attempt to lower the risk of dealing on school grounds.

It was here that he first met John Paul McQueen (James Sutton), and a few months into their relationship he became violent, fuelled by the jealousy he had for James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), JP’s former partners.

When his abusive ways were exposed to the fiercely protective McQueen clan, Theresa (Jorgie Porter) confronted him before Sally St. Clare (Annie Wallace) killed him with a bookend.

In the aftermath, the real murderer was never exposed – and after being questioned by the police, John Paul’s alcoholism relapsed.

Now, three years on, Callum has wowed his 526,000 Instagram followers with a series of adorable snaps revealing that he popped the question in South Africa.

‘Took this girl on a horse ride thru the Western Cape and asked if she’d spend the rest of her life with me’ he wrote, much to the delight of his fans.

Former co-star Billy Price, who played Sid Sumner wrote: ‘Congrats bro’, followed by a heart emoji.

Callum’s real life sister Amanda added: ‘So happy to have a sister’, tagging Lauren.

The news comes just months after he announced that he had signed a record deal in Nashville.

‘Proud to announce that after just shy of two years writing, and a year of releasing music here in Nashville, I’ve signed a record deal,’ he shared in June.

‘A coalition between OneRPM (the label) and HuffCo (the records) spearheaded by country award winning in-house producers @dannhuff and @davidhuffmusic

‘Can’t wait to show y’all what we’re working on and feeling beyond blessed to be involved.’

It’s certainly going to be a busy few years ahead for him!
