Hollyoaks star Glynis Barber announces Norma Crow exit
“A special day of filming with my two faves.”
Glynis Barber is the latest Hollyoaks star to announce her departure from the soap, teasing emotional final scenes for Norma Crow.
The actor, who has played the gangster in the Channel 4 soap since 2022, announced she had filmed her final scenes in an Instagram post.
She posted a selfie alongside Rita Simons and Jamie Lomas, who play Marie Fielding and Warren Fox respectively, saying she had a “special day of filming”.
“A special day of filming with my two faves, winding up my scenes on @hollyoaksofficial,” she wrote in the caption.
“What a joy working with @jamielomas21 , such a generous and gifted actor and who now has a special place in my heart.
“And reunited with @rita_simonsofficial who is literally one of my favourite people on the planet,” she added, after previously starring alongside the actor in EastEnders as mother-daughter duo Glenda and Roxy Mitchell.
Jamie, who is also set to leave the soap, commented on the post, sharing his sadness over her departure, writing: “Omg I literally can’t cope.
“I am going to miss seeing you everyday and I love you so much. Thank you for being the best onscreen partner and always making my days enjoyable. You are so talented and I can’t wait to see what is next for you.”
Rita shared the simple message, “Love you mummy”, while Jamie’s sister and former Emmerdale star Charley Webb joked: “Cuties, you don’t love him more than me though, right? RIGHT.”
It comes as a slew of stars are departing Hollyoaks, including Cindy Cunningham star Steph Waring, who had starred in the show for almost 30 years.
Zain Rizwaan actor Jonas Khan, and Hunter McQueen star Theo Graham are the among the 20 cast members who have left, or are set to leave, following Channel 4’s decision to cut episodes to three 20-minute slots per week, leading to job cuts throughout the show.
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
