Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter reveals which rival soap she’d join
“If Australia called…”
Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has revealed which rival soap she has her eye on.
The actor has appeared in the show since 2008 as Theresa McQueen, the daughter of Kathleen McQueen and half-sister of Jacqui and Mercedes McQueen.
Since arriving in Hollyoaks Village, she’s been at the centre of plenty of explosive storylines, including the murder of Calvin Valentine, her subsequent pregnancy with his child, and her near-death experience in a train crash.
But despite being part of one of Soapland’s most notorious families, Jorgie has shared which rival show she would love to star in.
Speaking at the BAFTA TV Awards this week, she said she has no immediate plans to leave the soap, but a role in Neighbours could tempt her.
When asked by the Daily Star if she’d swap soaps, she responded: How could you say that! I think, obviously, you can never say never, can you? You never know. I mean, you know, if Australia called. Neighbours…”
However, she assured fans Theresa will be staying put on our screens: “The first time I left, the whole crew in the building said goodbye, but the second time, they were like ‘Oh, you’ve already gone’. I love Theresa, so I hope she does last forever.”
Jorgie also confirmed a major storyline coming up for Theresa, as she is involved in a love triangle, teasing the drama to come.
She continued: “There’s a love-triangle scenario and a kind of throuple situation. Apparently, that’s quite a cool thing now isn’t it? And people are kind of into that kind of thing.
“It’s weird, it’s awkward and you’re not spit-swapping, per se, but you are kissing each other in a way. It’s probably like being in a throuple, to be fair.”
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
