Hollyoaks‘ Ste Hay has been caught out over his smuggling money agreement with Warren Fox.
A guilt-ridden Ste has agreed to act as a money mule for Warren. The cleaner has been forced to go on trips abroad for the thug after he accidentally killed Warren’s biological daughter Ella Richardson earlier in the year.
Ste has been keeping the dodgy deals a secret from his husband James Nightingale and the rest of his family. Nervous after receiving a plane ticket from Warren, Ste pleaded with James to take care of Leah and Lucas when he’s sentenced for Ella’s death.
After snapping at Leah, Ste tried to reason with Warren, begging him not to send him to Amsterdam as he needed to be there for his family and particularly his sister Leela, who just had a pregnancy loss.
Despite understanding Ste’s worries, Warren insisted he held his end of the bargain and insisted he go to the Netherlands.
Things didn’t go according to Warren’s plan when Leah found the stash of cash Ste had been hiding for Warren.
Sensing Ste may be involved in some dangerous affairs, Leah confronted him, accusing him of planning to do a runner.
Dissatisfied with his excuses and worried Ste may land in jail for a longer sentence, she burned his passport.
“You’ve got no idea what you’ve just done,” a desperate Ste told her as they both watched the document engulfed by the flames.
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
