Hollyoaks’ Stephanie Davis shares health update after hospital dash amid pregnancy
“Just wanted to make sure the baby was okay.”
Former Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has shared a health update following an emergency hospital visit.
The actor is currently pregnant with her second child and was sent to A&E by a doctor after feeling unwell on Friday night (October 25).
“I’ve not been feeling well. I’ve been really short of breath and I’ve had really swollen joints,” Davis shared on her Instagram Story. Showing her hand to the camera, she explained that she had “gone a funny colour”, adding: “They said it could be pregnancy arthritis”.
“It’s killing me. My ankles are swollen and I started getting really short of breath so the doctor sent me to A&E on Friday night. And I was like I can’t sit, it’s just torture.”
Davis explained that the doctors “ended up giving [her] some nebulisers”, which helped her to breathe. “And just by the end of it, at god knows what time in the morning, we just wanted to get home.”
The star went on to share her frustration at the ordeal, admitting that she was still “struggling” since returning home.
“I was just like ready for bed, on the verge of tears after sitting on those chairs. I’m struggling a bit again tonight, but I’m okay, I’m fine. I’ve just been a bit stressed I think.
“If I wasn’t pregnant I wouldn’t have gone because it’s just a nightmare isn’t it, sitting there. But obviously because of the swollen hands, swollen feet, shortness of breath, pregnant, obviously just wanted to make sure the baby was okay. So we rode it out,” she added.
Despite the health scare, Davis reassured fans that she would “try and have a nice weekend” by spending some time relaxing with her family.
“I am just so tired. Just been a bit stressful, going to take my time this week and chill,” she concluded.
