Home and Away shares new spoilers after car crash cliffhanger

Before returning to Australian television in two weeks, Home and Away has dropped a dramatic trailer that previews what to expect. You can see it above, along with a lot of fresh spoilers.

The devastating car collision cliffhanger that aired last week has kept viewers in suspense as the soap opera is presently having a mid-season break in Australia while Seven broadcasts the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

When Oz fans last visited Summer Bay, they saw a terrifying collision occur: a vehicle containing Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor), Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo), and Mia Anderson (Anna Samson) veered off the road, tumbled down a hill, and finally came to a halt atop a cliff.

More information about the crash’s immediate aftermath, including the arrival of helicopters and emergency vehicles, is revealed in the soap opera’s latest teaser. As he hurries to treat the crash victims, new doctor Logan Bennett (played by former Neighbours star Harley Bonner) gives us our first glimpse before yelling that badly injured Dean has to be taken to the hospital right now.

The crash aftermath shows no evidence of Mia or Nikau, so viewers will have to wait longer to learn what might happen to them.

As Ziggy’s ex-partner Dean is shown in the trailer sitting by his bedside and telling him that she forgives him for “everything” after his cover-up of Colby Thorne’s murder of Ross Nixon, there may be trouble ahead for Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman) and Tane Parata (Ethan Browne).

Tane, Ziggy’s lover, is left to observe them through the hospital door while she waits by Dean’s bedside. Is Tane’s relationship with Ziggy in jeopardy because Dean and Ziggy kissed right before the crash?

But a recent newcomer in the Bay, whom we see for the first time in the teaser, might lift Tane’s spirits. Felicity Newman, a self-assured woman whom we initially see dancing on a bar in a club, is played by former Neighbours actress Jacqui Purvis, who has joined the cast. She asks him right away if he’s single as soon as Tane enters the club, and it appears that she may have also captured his attention.

It is unclear if Felicity and fellow newcomer Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) will have any sort of connection other than a surname.

Another recent arrival Logan is a trauma surgeon seeking a new beginning in the Bay. He may make a splash when he arrives and becomes entangled in the aftermath of the car crash, but it appears he will also have time for fun when he notices Emily Weir’s character, Mackenzie Booth, flirting with him on the beach in the trailer.

More romance is in the air in the Bay as Jasmine Delaney (played by Sam Frost) appears to be developing feelings for Cash, the new police officer. She reluctantly agrees to “one date” with him at first, but she eventually calls him “officially my hero” in a video.

As Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee) and Christian Green (Ditch Davey) tie the knot, happiness finally finds them. Ahead of Tori’s “Let’s get married” declaration, the happy pair is pictured standing in front of their loved ones.

Monday, August 9 on Seven will see the return of Home and Away on Australian television screens. The automobile crash is scheduled to occur in September, and the soap opera is still airing on Channel 5 in the UK as usual.
