As previously reported, Beyond the Gates announced its first recast in its short history with the news that Maurice Johnson who has played Dr. Ted Richardson since the series premiere on February 24th, 2025 is being replaced by Keith D. Robinson.
Since Beyond the Gates seems to be taping a few months ahead of air, Robinson has been hard at work on his new role. Taking to his Instagram and replying to a fans question on just when his first episode will be airing on the CBS soap opera and streaming on Paramount+, Robinson revealed it will be Thursday, May 15th.
When Keith arrives in the middle of the drama at Fairmont Crest, he will have a major part in the fallout of Ted and Nicole’s (Daphee Duplaix) relationship. By the end of the Friday, May 2 episode, Nicole learned that her believed-to-be-faithful husband cheated on her years ago with Leslie (Tisha Mann Grant), and the result of which he shares a daughter with her, Eva (Ambyr Michelle)!

Currently, Maurice Johnson will play the immediate emotional fall-out of scenes over the next two weeks, as Ted tries to salvage his marriage, and figure how to move forward with a relationship with Eva (Ambyr Michelle), and to keep everyone save from a revenge-filled Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant).
Robinson previously played Joel Rawlings in Power Rangers, and the role of C.C. White, the on-screen brother to Jennifer Hudson’s Effie in the motion picture adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Dreamgirls, plus Keith’s other roles include: Lightspeed Rescue, Over There, Canterbury’s Law, Saints and Sinners, and A Million Little Things.
