Severide’s important role in the ceremony is revealed

Only a couple like Brett and Casey could turn a fish supplies store into a romantic wedding venue.

The love story between Chicago Fire‘s Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) is one for the ages. For years, it was unclear whether the relationship would be end-game — but as of Season 12 of the NBC nail-biter — “Brettsey” is official.

Chi-hards couldn’t be more excited to see two characters get together after a tumultuous long-distance relationship and disheartening break-up, but Brett and Casey never could deny their love for each other. It’s no wonder that the cherished couple has decided to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. After several swoon-worthy moments between the 51 colleagues, all eyes are on the couple as they prepare for their wedding day.

Featuring an exciting return from One Chicago fan favorite Spencer, Brett and Casey will walk down the aisle in Season 12, Episode 6 (“Port in the Storm”), airing Wednesday, February 28 at 9 pm ET on NBC. Below, see pictures from the exciting Chicago Fire wedding:

Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith), Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), Matt Casey ( Jesse Spencer), and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) appear in Season 12 Episode 6 of Chicago Fire.

Photos of Brett and Casey’s wedding reveal that the couple will be strutting down the aisle in the most eclectic of venues — a commercial fish store. Despite the hums of aquariums, the 51 family seemingly pull together quite a stunning locale for Brett and Casey’s vows.

Violet and Severide have a special role

Maid-of-honor Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and best man Severide (Taylor Kinney) cheer for Brett and Casey, who beam ear to ear.

Make no mistake — it wouldn’t be a Chicago Fire wedding without a race to the ceremony. The logline for “Port in the Storm” reads: “Firehouse 51 welcomes back some familiar faces and says goodbye to Brett; Violet scrambles to decorate Brett’s wedding venue; a call at the expo center takes a shocking turn.”

Look at the love in their eyes as they cut that cake! It also wouldn’t be a proper trip to the city for Casey without a stop by Molly’s, so what better place to host the reception?

Firehouse 51 all show up for Sylvie Brett and Matt Casey’s wedding

The best part about a wedding is the heartfelt reunions among loved ones. In another picture from Brett and Casey’s wedding reception, they pose alongside Severide and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), an equally adored One Chicago couple. Seeing Severide and Casey back in action is a beautiful sight, and Brett looks happier than ever.

Casey moved to Portland in Season 10 of Chicago Fire, but he had to make his way back to the Windy City to celebrate his big day surrounded by his CFD colleagues. Chi-Hards have been ecstatic about any visits from Casey, but no one can deny his wedding day will make the biggest splash (pun intended).

Brettsey’s wedding is also Sylvie Brett’s Chicago Fire farewell

Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) appear in Season 12 Episode 6 of Chicago Fire.

Another picture from the ceremony shows Brett and her 51 friends posing for the camera on the dance floor, a fitting scene considering the reception is also a goodbye party for the bride. From Seasons 3-12 of Chicago Fire, Brett stole hearts as 51’s beloved Paramedic in Charge. However, Brett and Casey decided that after the wedding, they’d start their next chapter as newlyweds together in Portland.

As two Chicago Fire powerhouses come together for their happily ever, Chi-Hards are sad to say farewell to Brett as she leaves the Windy City. Brett deserves happiness with Casey, and as it has been proven time and time again on Chicago Fire, no one truly leaves Firehouse 51.

Don’t miss Brett’s emotional Chicago Fire send-off by watching Killmer’s final episode on Wednesday, February 28 at 9 pm ET on NBC or the next day on Peacock.
