The Young and the Restless Update: Monday, January 8 – Victor Catches Nikki’s Lie, Brother Teamwork and Ashley’s Terror

The Young and the Restless Recap: Summer Shows Phyllis The Door - Daytime Confidential

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, January 8, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will start to seem skeptical about Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) ability to dupe Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), but Kyle will remain convinced that Tucker has no idea about his plans.

After Kyle insists they have to deliver the next blow, he’ll text Tucker and try to pressure him for a decision about whether he wants the Jabot product info.

Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will also get a reminder about how horrible Tucker was in Paris after Kyle mentions their blowup there.

That’ll still be on Ashley’s mind when she heads to the athletic club and spots Tucker with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).

After Audra updates Tucker on Kyle’s phony product info and his confession about the setup, she’ll make it clear that Tucker has her loyalty.

Tucker will notice Ashley and bring Audra up to speed on their different versions of how bad things got in Paris.

Although Tucker will deny being out of control, Audra will hint that maybe he’s downplaying it and hoping that he can still save his marriage.

Y&R will once again show Tucker’s flashback of tipping his glass over and barely nudging his chair.

Ashley will also get her familiar flashback of Tucker seeming like a monster with all his glass smashing and chair tossing.

Once Tucker catches up with Ashley, he’ll reach out to stop her from leaving. Ashley will snap at Tucker not to touch her and will seem genuinely fearful.

That’ll unsettle Tucker, but Ashley will accuse her of trying to gaslight him.

Although one of them must be wrong about how things went down in Paris, Ashley will refuse to believe it’s her and will storm out.

Back at Tucker’s table, Audra will notice that a new text came in from Kyle, so she’ll read his message about the clock ticking.

At Newman Media, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will barely resist the urge to drink and will call her sponsor, Seth (Brian Gaskill), for help.

After Nikki arranges for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to meet her at Society in an hour, she’ll meet with Seth first and open up about how difficult it’s been to avoid temptation.

Seth will be glad that Nikki finally reached out, especially since she’ll clearly feel a lot of pressure when it comes to Victor and staying on the wagon.

Since Seth has faced similar inner demons, he’ll understand what Nikki’s going through. It’ll seem like it really helps Nikki to lean on Seth for support.

At Newman Enterprises, Victor will surprise Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) with the news that they’ll both be his co-CEOs.

Nick will balk a bit at the new order and won’t be very cooperative at first.

Victor will force Nick and Adam to work together on a presentation that’s due after lunch, but Nick will fight Adam on his suggestions.

Once Nick realizes his attitude is making things worse, he’ll agree to try and will find a path to peaceful teamwork with Adam.

It’ll give Nick and Adam some hope when it comes to making this arrangement work.

Back at Society, Victor will be taken aback when he finds Nikki with Seth.

After introductions are exchanged, Victor will question why he’s never heard about Seth until now.

Seth and Nikki will explain how important anonymity is to people who take part in AA, so Victor will hope they can count on Seth’s discretion, too.

After Seth offers reassurance and leaves, Victor will gently call Nikki out for not being honest with him.

Nikki pretended she was OK earlier, but Victor will suspect she’s actually struggling since she summoned her sponsor.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki’s sobriety fight will come with more hurdles, so stay tuned.
