Why does Lieutenant Pelham from Chicago Fire look so familiar

When “Chicago Fire” debuted on NBC in 2012, no one could have imagined that nearly a decade later, it would still be a primetime hit or that it would become a flagship show in the franchise. hit “One Chicago” now has three popular series. . Yet here we are, with “Chicago Fire” burning through its 10th season and recently airing its 200th episode on NBC.

Over the years, many characters have naturally come and gone within the “One Chicago” scene. But the 200th episode of “Chicago Fire” saw one of its biggest cast changes yet, when longtime star Jesse Spencer left the show. Spencer’s departure obviously left a glaring hole in both the cast of “Chicago Fire” and Firehouse 51’s leadership, as his Captain Matthew Casey had been running things before he left Go. With Spencer officially out of the game, the “Chicago Fire” fanbase must consider who can fill the void.

That question was quickly answered with the arrival of Lieutenant Jason Pelham, who is currently serving as Firehouse 51’s interim big boss until a permanent replacement is found. Chances are many of you recognize the face of the actor who plays Lt. Pelham on “Chicago Fire” — it belongs to Brett Dalton. This is where you’ve seen him before.

Brett Dalton is the main character in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD

For the record, Brett Dalton has maintained “rising star” status for many years now. That’s largely the result of a string of impressive appearances on acclaimed small-screen shows like “Blue Bloods,” “Army Wives” and “Elementary.” But if you’re sure you’ve seen Dalton’s sculpted look somewhere else before, it’s probably because you’re a fan of ABC’s underrated Marvel show, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

That series debuted in 2013 and told hero-adjacent stories about a stellar team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who was revived after the events of 2012’s “The Avengers.” Although it didn’t become a super hit like many other Marvel properties, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” remained for seven seasons on ABC, airing 136 episodes during that time. For 63 of them, Brett Dalton portrayed the super-sketchy super agent Grant Ward, or at least some variation of the duplicate character, whose personality and loyalties are of the ever-changing variety.

With each shocking twist in Grant Ward’s story, Dalton demonstrated a seemingly boundless range, imbuing the character with surprising emotional depth. That includes his final and most shocking part in “Agents of SHIELD,” in which Dalton beautifully portrayed the iconic Marvel villain and intergalactic HYDRA god Hive, thus ensuring said that he left an indelible mark on the series like any of his co-stars. As it stands, there’s no doubt that he’ll leave a big mark on “Chicago Fire” with Lt. Pelham.
