Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly ‘An Angel’ As Beth Star Was Lifeline For ‘Distraught’ Sanctuary

Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly was behind a “miracle” with the Beth Dutton actress giving a helping hand to a sanctuary in need.

Yellowstone’s Beth Dutton star “saved a life” when she came to the rescue of a sanctuary that had nowhere else to turn.

Kelly Reilly, who has been behind the feisty and ruthless Beth Dutton since 2020, is very different from her Yellowstone counterpart in many ways.

Among those traits is a love for horses, as Beth grew up with a fear of the animals, Reilly spent her childhood riding, so working on the Western Paramount Network drama really was a dream come true.

And it was back in November 2022 that the English actress was able to give back to her lifelong passion by helping Skydog Sanctuary which “rescue, rehab, reunite and release wild mustangs”.

The non-profit organisation did a social media call out after coming across a “beautiful” horse that was on the brink of being euthanised and needed help in getting her to safety.

According to Skydog Sanctuary’s website, this is when the Yellowstone star stepped in.

Explaining the situation, the post reads: “We were at the BLM Corrals to pick up the last of our warm springs donkeys and saw this sweet pretty little filly who was going to be euthanised because she was club footed.

“Janelle, our farrier, thought with some corrective trimming she would be fine.

“We were distraught and reached out via social media to find anyone who might be able to take this young horse.

“She was from Cold Springs HMA and was adopted out once and then returned for being club footed. We didn’t want to leave her…

“Whenever we need a horse miracle an angel appears.

“You just never know who could be watching and Kelly Reilly (from our favorite show Yellowstone) contacted us and offered to sponsor this beautiful filly to enable us to bring her home to Skydog.”

The message continued: “She named her Beth after her character Beth Dutton, and so far she is living up to her fiery name.

“We are so grateful to Kelly and everyone who stepped up to plea for her to come to us.

“We came for a donkey and saved a young life – bless you”, ending the update with the hashtag “Skydog Beth”.

The sanctuary also shared the story on social media where they added how Reilly had “saved her [the horse’s] life and has supported her and us ever since and we are so thankful”.

Reilly developed a bond with horses when she was a child, taking up a job at a stables.

And if she wasn’t in the world of entertainment, she most likely would have taken it up as a career.

She previously told Evening Standard: “I couldn’t afford a horse, but I kind of adopted one and spent a lot of time with him.

“It was an obsession — and if I hadn’t discovered acting I wouldn’t be here talking to you.”

Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Network.
